float therapy

THERAPY OVERVIEW

The main benefit of using a sensory deprivation tank is to ease mental anxiety and muscle tension. Due to how buoyant the Epsom salt and water solution is, you can fully relax all of your muscles when floating. This is similar to experiencing zero gravity.  Float therapy is a strictly private experience. Although you may choose to wear a bathing suit, anything pressing against your skin can provide a distraction during your float. For this reason, we recommend that you don't wear any clothing.

WHY

Why would you do float therapy?  Flotation tanks are an excellent way of combating stress, alleviating muscular aches and pains and for reaching Zen like states of relaxation.   Soaking in Epsom salts has been found to stimulate lymph drainage, and promote the absorption of Magnesium and Sulfates.   The magnesium in the water of the float pod helps the overall appearance of our skin by lowering cortisol levels, stabilizing our hormonal balance and improving cellular processes. It is naturally antibacterial and antimicrobial and can help detoxify our body and clear up skin irritations.

RECOMMENDED

Who is float therapy recommended for?  Float tank therapy is recommended for all customers regardless of age.

HOW OFTEN

How often should you use float therapy?  While you can float every day without harm, we find that the relaxing effects of a one-hour float typically last beyond that day. For best results, we recommend regular sessions, and many clients find that floating once or twice a week provides the most benefits.

Benefits

What is the benefits of float therapy?  The primary benefits of float therapy are reducing inflammation in your muscles and joints and freeing your mind of distractions. As you float, the salt also acts as a detox for your cells with its magnesium base.  Studies suggest time spent floating in a sensory deprivation tank may have some benefits in healthy people, such as muscle relaxation, better sleep, decrease in pain, and decreased stress and anxiety.

SUMMARY

What does this help to improve?  The unique mixture of salts and water creates a buoyancy effect, supporting the body for a deeply relaxing experience. Because these salts have anti-inflammatory benefits, they reduce swelling around the joints and fully relax sore or tense muscles.
